FAQ

What is the advantage of a stiff sensor compared to a flexible plate?

Bending plates distort images and jeopardize the reproducible image quality - plate manufacturers specifically state that plates should not be bent. With proper positioning, sensor comfort combined with the speed of image capture offer the ultimate intraoral imaging experience.

What are the system requirements?

The requirements actually follow those for the image processing software, Sidexis 4. For more details, please see Sidexis 4 System Requirements.

Why is a DIY cable exchange important?

The cable technology in Xios XG is backed by more than 2 decades of industry leading experience and offers outstanding robustness (4-wire design, kink resistant, USB sensor connector proofed to 20,000 versus 1,500 for USB A connectors). Still, mistakes happen, for example if someone slams the door with the cable in-between or shuts a drawer with force. For those cases, it is good to be prepared.

I have a Xios sensor. What is the difference to Xios XG?

Truly outstanding image quality. The Xios XG Supreme's 15µm pixel is less than half the size of Xios' 40µm pixel and, combined with the imaging software gold standard Sidexis 4, ensures the best diagnostic experience for all users. For the more economical customer, Xios XG Select offers improved imaged quality, while both Select and Supreme not only benefit from the unique replaceable cable technology, but also a WiFi option.

My treatment rooms are very large - will the cables reach?

USB Modules are supplied with 2m USB cables and 2.7m sensor cables, allowing for plenty of space. If reach may be a problem, the WiFi solution takes these concerns out completely, while offering greater movement if moving between multiple treatment rooms.

Where do I have to buy the sensor holder system?

Dentsply Sirona's patented adhesive holder system allows for a hygienic, comfortable and accurate imaging experience. All sensor kits are supplied with holder sets while further kits as well as refills can be purchased at any time.

Are the sensors waterproof?

Yes, they are. As documented in the User Manual, the sensor complies with the protection class IPX0. It means that, when used appropriately covered with a hygienic sleeve, the sensor is 100% waterproof.
