Order process
An implant- or abutment-level impression is taken by the clinician and sent to the dental laboratory with a request for an Atlantis abutment.
The order is entered by the dental technician using Atlantis WebOrder. Case models and materials can be shipped to Dentsply Sirona Implants or scanned at the dental laboratory.
All Atlantis abutments are designed by Dentsply Implants using the Atlantis VAD software. Designs can be reviewed and/ or edited in Atlantis 3D Editor before being produced by Dentsply Sirona Implants.
Once produced, Atlantis abutments are returned to the ordering dental laboratory which then produces the final prosthetic solution and sends the completed case back to the clinician.

Atlantis Abutment in titanium
Atlantis Abutment in titanium is indicated for cement-retained restorations and milled from a solid, biocompatible titanium alloy blank.
Material
Titanium Alloy 6Al-4V (Grade 5).
Atlantis abutment in gold-shaded titanium
Atlantis abutment in gold-shaded titanium is indicated for cement-retained restorations. It is milled from a solid titanium alloy blank, titanium Alloy 6Al-4V (Grade 5) and coated with a thin coating of titanium nitride (TiN). The coating gives a warm gold-shaded color, ideal for esthetically challenging cases with thin soft tissue or when using an all-ceramic crown.
The titanium nitride coating covers the entire abutment except for contact area between the abutment/implant and screw/abutment. Ideal for esthetically challenging cases with thin soft tissue or when using an all-ceramic crown.
Material
Titanium Alloy 6Al-4V (Grade 5)
Titanium nitride (TiN) coated
Coating thickness: 0.5–4 μm
Atlantis Abutment in zirconia
Milled from a solid blank for consistency in the natural-tooth-like color, these all-zirconia engineered abutments provide strength and durability.
Zirconia allows for reduced plaque build-up in comparison to titanium.
Note: Use of zirconia abutments should be carefully evaluated when placed in situations with unfavorable loading conditions. Any modification of Atlantis abutments in zirconia may influence the mechanical strength and create risk of change in material properties (e.g. during grinding). The porcelain/stain should be formulated to have a CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) that is appropriate for zirconia/
Coefficient of thermal linear expansion: 10.6 x 10-6/K-1
Color: Four shades
All Atlantis abutments are delivered with its corresponding abutment screw, which is optimized for the design of the internal geometry of the abutment.
Features and benefits
Material
All titanium abutments, titanium nitride (TiN) coated abutments, and screws are made from titanium grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V ELI meeting ASTM standard F-136.
Indications for use The abutment screw delivered with the case should always be used. Abutment screws from the implant manufacturer cannot be used as a replacement for the Atlantis abutment screw provided, unless otherwise noted.
Atlantis Crown, Cut-back
The Atlantis Crown, Cut-back is a patient-specific crown with space for porcelain veneering, intended for use with an Atlantis Abutment. Together, these components function as a full single-tooth prosthetic restoration. The cut-back crown is veneered and finalized by the dental laboratory, and cemented to the Atlantis Abutment by the clinician as the final stage of the prosthetic procedure.
Milled in a monolithic medium translucent zirconia, Y-TZP (yttrium stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals), with a coefficient of thermal expansion of 10.6 x 10-6/K-1.
Available in thirteen different translucent shades of zirconia. These are developed to resemble the shades on the Vita shade guide (refer to shade guide when entering the order in Atlantis WebOrder).
Atlantis Crown, Full-contour
The Atlantis Crown, Full-contour is a patient-specific crown intended for use with an Atlantis Abutment. Together, these components function as a full single-tooth prosthetic restoration. The full-contour crown may be stained and glazed by the dental laboratory, and cemented to the Atlantis Abutment by the clinician as the final stage of the prosthetic procedure.
Milled in a monolithic high translucent zirconia, Y-TZP (yttrium stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals), with a coefficient of thermal expansion of 10.6 x 10-6/K-1.
The crowns are available in thirteen different highly translucent shades of zirconia. These are developed to resemble the shades on the Vita shade guide
Atlantis Crown File
The Atlantis Crown File is a patient-specific “ready-to-mill” digital file of the cut-back or the full-contour crown design, intended for use with an Atlantis Abutment. Together, these components function as a full single-tooth prosthetic restoration.
Atlantis Core File is a high precision digital file of the total case, including the outer surface of an Atlantis Abutment and all scanned data such as soft tissue, adjacent teeth and opposing dentition.
Atlantis Core File eliminates the need to scan the abutment and cast and enables the digital design of the coping and final restoration before even receiving the physical abutment ordered.
Atlantis Insertion Guide
The Atlantis Insertion Guide is a precisely-crafted, 3D-printed device that securely holds an Atlantis Abutment at the correct angle and orientation during installation. The guide can be ordered for both single- and multiple-unit cases.
The insertion guide uses adjacent teeth (for single-unit cases) as an index and ensures precise and reliable abutment placement. The Atlantis Abutment scan data, provided by the patented Virtual Atlantis Design (VAD) is used to create the Atlantis Insertion Guide for a perfect design and fit.

Atlantis CustomBase solution with Atlantis Crown, Cut-back or Full-contour crown
The Atlantis Crown with a screw access hole can be ordered at the same time as the Atlantis Abutment. The crown is available in a cut-back version for porcelain veneering or as a full-contour version for staining and glazing the crown. With a fixed cement space of 40 µm, the crown is cemented extraorally to the Atlantis Abutment to avoid potential complications caused by excess cement. Available in 12 different translucent shades of zirconia and one white zirconia to resemble the shades on the Vita shade guide.
Angulated screw access
Angling the screw access channel allows the screw access hole to be optimally positioned, improving the esthetics and the installation procedure of the Atlantis CustomBase solution.
Allows the screwdriver access channel to be angled up to 30 degrees off the implant axis. The screwdriver access channel is smaller diameter than the screw head diameter, therefore the screw is captured in the abutment/crown after cementation and should not be removed after the extraoral cementation.
Atlantis Angulated Screw Access Screwdriver is required during installation.
Order the screwdriver and your choice of driver handle in Dentsply Sirona Implants eCommerce.
